                                Fiberglass Hull Restoration

In the past ten years, high performance fiberglass boats from the 1960's and 1970's have become collectible investment pieces. Their restoration can be just as involved as restoring a 1900's motor launch. Unlike wooden boats, fiberglass boats were not constructed with repair-ability in mind. Floors set under fiberglass rot out, stringers break after decades of collecting too many holes, bulkheads split, transom and deck cores rot away and stress cracks spread out over the entire hull.

While a good body shop with boat experience can deal with many of the hull surface defects, the replacement of structural components requires a boat restoration shop. It is not just the wood replacement that we deal with, but we are experienced with the extensive variety of material solutions required.  The When and Why to use epoxy-based products, polyester and vinylester resins, E and S glass, carbon fiber, Kevlar, and vacuum bagging are why you should come to us.
